Grand Challenge 2005

Coyote Robotics participated in the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge as a supplier of stereo vision-based obstacle detection. Our vision system, called SmartVision, was used by the University of Washington and Team CyberRider. Team CyberRider was chosen as one of 40 teams to attend the NQE in Fontana, CA at the California Speedway. The University of Washington team was selected as one of 9 alternates. Coyote Robotics would like to congratulate both teams for their achievement.

Unfortunately, neither the University of Washington nor Team CyberRider was selected to run in the final Grand Challenge race. On October 8th, Stanley, from Team Stanford won the 2005 Grand Challenge earning the 2 million dollar prize.

Check out photos from the 2005 Grand Challenge as well as images from our stereo cameras.
